Just saw John Paramore relaying the story of a caddy who had not checked the number of clubs prior to kick off yetserday.....so he tried to lose it in the middle of a thick bush!!!! Oops

Bad error of judgement by the bag man, best find another carrer or go caddy for Saltman!! ;)

Just saw that. What was he thinking of, going into bushes trying to ditch it.how embarrassing ,should of manned up & took it on the chin. Whos gonna want him on their bag now.

If he was going to cheat I'm suprised that he (the caddie) didn't just leave it in the bag and hope that no one counted the clubs

Maybe im wrong but if he mans up to the player and they take the 4 shot penalty then all he has got is a severe boot up the backside maybe sacked from that bag, but isnt blackballed?

am i being to black and white?

thats true maximum 4 stroke penalty but on this occasion they felt dq was a more fitting punishment

Nah, they applied a totally different rule, the penalty for too many bats was not applied.

Serious breach of etiquette made it a committee decison to DQ.

I get why they did that, but it seems a bit unfair on the poor player who had no knowledge of this. I realise that there's a rule that players are responsible for caddies, but there should be a better way of handling errant caddies without penalising the player.

No I don't mean the committee I'm talking about the caddy fessing up to the player, them then telling the referee and only a 4 shot penalty given rather than trying to cheat and getting a dq

Whatever the reason behind the DQ the guy must be pretty dim to think he'd get away with just mis-placing it in the middle of a televised event with the crowds watching. He'll surely never work as a caddy again
