Played this morning , after 2 nights of very little sleep (excuse in :)) ,

started ok but then all the breaks started going against me , bad bounces , lip outs etc, normally i brush them off and blow them off convincing myself it will even out etc

playing with my normal partners and for some reason some of their well meant comments were bugging me , good putt , good shot when actually it wasn't, had me muttering under my breath , which never happens

I banged the club off the ground 2 or 3 times , cant remember when i ever done that last , i dont think ive ever used the F word so often allbeit under my breath ..

i didnt enjoy it one bit today, and its not the golf im disappointed in its me , but im going to stick it down to tiredness

What im wondering is , How do people who do this regularly enjoy their golf ? or why do they even play ?

Are you one of these ? do you know anyone like this ?

We all have bad rounds and bad days. It isn't fun and I know exactly what you mean about the comments getting under the skin for no apparent reason. I'd put it down to the lack of sleep making you fractious, a bad day on the course and a rare show of petulance on your part and forget all about it. I'm sure the others haven't given it a second thought

Had a couple of them

One of my FC has one of those voices that "travel" - you know at one point in the round he will make a noise at the wrong time and has been told to keep his voice down

Normally it doesn't bother me but when you have those rounds when things don't go right everything gets to you - did snap at him a few times during the last midweek medal - but mice it's finished then it's over and there is always the next game and it's nothing worth really worrying about

its the Titleist clubs Blade, they dont suit you, swap for R Bladez Tours which are so easy to use (I know a Titleist fan boy desperate to get back:whistle:)

You be amazed just how much tiredness affects your game. I often play after working a saturday night with no sleep between the two rounds (play saturday, work saturday night and play sunday straight after the shift).
Some days its helps to slow your swing down, most days you just can't concentrate and start to get rattled about silly little things.
Put it down to lack of sleep pal.

You played with me didn't you? ;)

Tiredness will throw anyone off their game. If you find you are always like this then may want to step back and look at yourself but this is far from your norm.

Yup that was me the other week week when I could not drive for tuppence. And my whole game suffered by trying to play catch up.

A mate said the other week a bad day at golf is better than a good day at work. Oh yes.

my mates do help me through the bad days fortunately the good uns outweigh the bad uns.

Or as my FC said - a bad days golf is better than any day with the wife :D

Or getting old and grumpy like me

This is quiet a possibility mate

Yea that what surprised & disappointed me mate, ive played tired before but today i was a bit shocked with myself ha ha as i said in the OP if i was like that the whole time im not sure id want to or even be able to play the game

Heaven knows i played rubbish enough at the Slieve Russel but did it with a smile ha

I'm a great believer in golf being a 70% mental game and I'm sure some would agree? if your tired, unwell or have a lot on your plate will indeed affect your game in a negative way, personally last month I played the best round of my life walking off the course +3 after 18 holes, 1 week later after learning my dad had been diagnosed with cancer I decided to play a round myself just to get out and clear my head, gave up on the shot count and would imagine it would be well over the 110 mark with plenty lost balls!!

Nowhere near as angry as I used to be, starting to question if I need to start getting angry again as there appears to a direct correlation between my handicap rising and becoming more placid!
