I dont know if we could do this but there seems to a good few golfers of a good standard on our forum! would it be possible for us to have like an order of merit. all u have to do is reply to this post below and enter ur location and handicap (excat) I will look later and put all our handicaps in order and post them at the end of the weekend (sunday night).

Lads, I already feel inadequate enough! There are so many young guys at my club who play off + handicaps that I feel like a rank beginner as a category 2 golfer. Was playing just ahead of the 3 Saltman brothers yesterday, 2 of whom are now pro, and the other is off +2. I felt like giving the game up. Their dad definitely beats mine!

Never mind guys I thought it would of been interesting but u all don't seem to see the fun side of it. I have learnt over the years it dosent matter what your handicap is we all have to get it into the hole.

Personally i think that it was a good post clubchamp07, i really don't see why people are so touchy about it, i would have liked to see how far down the order of merit i am, and then it could have been a chllenge for us all to try to climb it? we could have had an update every month. By the way i am off 15.(play to about 7/8 usually) but this year i havent had enough comps to get this figure down.

Why? What's the point? I know that my handicap is lower than some of the posters and higher than others. I still like to hear their opinions, however.

I think there should be an order of merit also , but based on weekly performance rather than actual handicap, ie someone who beat/went over their handicap and rate ourselves on net points. Any other way may be unfair for the lower handicappers, ie in my opinion its easier for a 25 handicapper to run round 20 over than a 5 handicapper going round in level par gross.
Ideas?

I give up, I thought we could have a little fun with it if we had of let it run, and I don't mean making fun of higher handicapers. I play with a guy evey Saturday and his handicap is 28 so U can't call me anything but fair!!!!


Shanker asked me "why, what's the point"? may I ask him whats the point in anything if we can't have a little fun. From now on I shall keep to the posts and just read them....

I was once a ''clubchamp'' but not in 2007. I would enjoy a game with any of you where I live in the north of Spain. Great course, great wine, great people like me.

Yes shanker thats why we're moving there nice people and course's never mind the wine, next year but we're heading south. U never know we may one day play a round or 2 together.............
