They seem to get consistantly good write ups in the glossies, everyone that tries them say they are very good. You never know until you try them. The top manufacturers pay out millions to get their clubs in view, just because a manufacturer chooses not to doesn't mean they are in any way inferior after all they all seem to be made in China these days anyway.

I definitely would. I have a Orka hybrid and it's a decent club with a aldila NV shaft. I would consider the irons and a driver if I could get custom fit.

I did however hear somewhere they may be in a bit of financial strife.

Yes, I had a set of Orka irons and regret ever changing them. I would certainly consider going back to them.

I think the Rs1's look like a nice 18th birthday present. How much do they go for, any ideas I can't really find a price.

I like the look of them but what are they going to offer me that is really any different from a host of other brands. Nice looking but unless it can give me something the others can't then I'm out

They generally only come custom fitted as you buy them through a network of club fitters. You can buy off the web site but as the fitting is in the price it would not appear the best option.

I had a bit of contact with the MD (Stuart Johnson) and he was on the forum for a bit a few years ago. Nice bloke, very helpful and overall Orka were a good company to deal with. They generally score well in magazine reviews but have not seen them feature for a while and not seen anything in the reviews of the new gear for this year. May just be that they are not changing the range this year.
