"Open" wins this year.

As usual this year a group of sometimes 9 sometimes 12 we entered some away "opens" this year.
Finally in our last open,4bbb our group had a 1st and 3rd place at Wells golf club.
A relatively nice day with a 20mph wind,and 3 biblical showers.
1st place 40 points won on countback,38 points 3rd on countback.
The 3rd place was me and my dad,the first time we had ever played as a pair,we also had three 2s.
Anybody else had a win at an away day?

I have had 1 win at an away day this year.
It was a singles medal with no handicap limit and I won it with a nett 59

I haven't wn a home day yet let alone trying to win at someone else's track!!!

Only played the one away Open this year and came 3rd.

Hope to play more next year

Not in club comps , have had a couple of wins on AWAY courses in society outings tho ,seem to be playing better on different tracks at the min for some reason ..

I had 2 3rd places, whilst on holiday.

A 3rd at Littlestone with 34 points (from memory) and a 3rd at Princes with a 34 or 35 points.

£25.00 from Littlestone (spent) and £50.00 from Princes (still unspent, at the moment). Didn't even find out the Littlestone one until I got home, as I was in 3rd place with 50-60 golfers (many of them menbers) still to come in.

My only away win was at Breadsall Priory but with my form on away courses when compared to my home course, open comps may be the way forward for me.

Had a 2nd up at the Dunkeld Invitational and 4th at my home course Open. Both welcome contributions to my Bushnell fund. Haven't entered as many Opens this year as I normally would due to car issues - shame as they are a great way of playing other courses at a decent rate.
