Apparently my shoulders are very open when i stand over the ball, mainly when i've gor a driver in my hand. I used to overswing (so that i could see the clubhead out of my left eye)and i got a bad slice.I've now cut my backswing down but have lost a lot of distance, and still have a slight slice. Any suggestions? I play off 22 and have been playing for 1 year, i've still a long way to go!!

Close ya stance.

When you go to the range, lay a club on the floor pointing straight at your target. Then set up so your feet, hips and shoulders are all aligned with the club and the target.

Then, as your strike the ball, your club head 'should' be square at impact instead of slightly open. This should stop you slicing, providing there is nothing else wrong woth your set up.

If your stance is open then the club would need to travel a couple more inches through the swing in order for it to be square at the point of impact.
