He spent over 120 million, so not sure why people think he didn't get any cash from the board. They obviously stopped giving it to him because he buys dross and plays crap football.
Must be better than Evertons crap though Colin as results proved ;)

Beg to differ Canny

O'Neills finishing positions - 11th, 6th, 6th, 6th

Moyes in same period - 6th, 5th, 5th, 8th

Throw in an FA Cup final and a shoestring budget and the defence rests

I was going by last seasons results ;)
I like Moyes and watched him often as a Centre half with the Pars after we bought him from Celtic.

Just read an article on skysports.com & it shows the Villa owners for exactly what they are . . . .businessmen. Apparantly the fall out because the owners had to sell players to balance the "wage-to-revenue" issues....More clubs will probably end up having to do the same, otherwise more and more clubs will end up like Portsmouth.

What is wrong with wanting to run the club as a business? They need to be sustainable, not money pits. With the new rules coming in about player wages to turn over ratio, not addressing this issue will see the club in trouble. The likes of Chelsea and City are not going to be allowed to continue spending on players wages like now. Lerner is just trying to balance the books before the new regulations come in. MON was an idiot with his head in the sand.

Welll unless he has some domestic issues or ill health I can't see why someone who is and always has been Mr 100% football would walk out on a relatively stress free environment like Ashton Gate. Give it a few weeks, change of heart and into the job.

He has quite often said he doesnt actually enjoy management, similar to gordon strachan in that they much prefer coaching.

He's also said he wont manage again, but feels he still has something to offer the game - i can see him coachin or scouting somewhere

Nothing, i applaud the owners for doing it. Not all clubs have the financial backing of Chelsea and Man City.
