Lads, its been done before but we are fast approaching the start of the season and I am asking you what your hopes and fears are for the coming season?

What are you off at the mo?

Have you prep'd for the season starting?

What will do you hope to do to your cap in the first couple of months?

Do you think there is a champion inside just waiting to burst out?

Due to play my third card round on Friday so will have my first official to start the season and then the whole of the summer to see if I can bring it down. Would be over the moon if I could finish the season under 20.

Looking to enter first comps soon so will spend this year getting used the experience.

Currently playing off 27 but my goal for the season is to bring H,cap down to 18.

Have been preping by trying to prefect my short game, 9 shots seems alot to come down but i think i need to tighten up around the greens. Hopefully if i can do this then, i think 18 is a relistic goal for me.

I am playing in my frist ever medal in April so am looking forward to that, but with some trepidation as well.

As for a future champ i'll let you know at the end of the season.

Good Luck to All

Handicap is 13.5 at the moment.

I have been working hard on my mid irons the last few weeks trying to hit more GIR's.

I hope to get to 11 pretty quickly, and my main aim is to get to 10 and stay there throughout the year.

Club Champ? Hell yeah! I think I have chance, would have had a shot in the final last year if it was not for the cheat so why not.

Winter golf has been great so far, I hope to have even half the success I have had over the dark months as it will get me cut back to my target handicap this year, 6, which is where I started off at the club two years ago. Im not going to be unrealistic though, if I drop by at least a shot and a half I will consider it a job done then gather confidence for the following year.

What are you off at the mo? 11.5

Have you prep'd for the season starting? yes, big time....lessons, new kit, might even splash out on a £2.99 hat from online golf. (if I can think of other stuff to buy to get up to £25......)

What will do you hope to do to your cap in the first couple of months? I hope it drops, but I'm not expecting much

Do you think there is a champion inside just waiting to burst out? Nope....best I could imagine would be a gross 8 over, which isn't going to win a thing against all the 20+ banditos... :(

10.8 at the moment and feeling capable of getting to single figures. I'm Hitting my driver well and if I can consistently hit fairways then my target is definitely achievable.
On a more short term basis I'm hoping to demolish my nemisis "Dormie" in our first death of the season at Drumoig tomorrow morning.
Wish me luck, because I know for a fact that it all goes horribly wrong then he will be on here immediately after slaughtering me, whereas I wouldn't dream of doing such a thing.

What are you off at the mo?...... 12.5 - was 14.4 last october

Have you prep'd for the season starting?.... Yes! One lesson, 11 new clubs (only 3 left from last season, and the rescue may give way to a 1/2 iron soon!)

What will do you hope to do to your cap in the first couple of months?...... get down to 12 - single figures next year, but i can win stuff off 12 (i hope)

Do you think there is a champion inside just waiting to burst out?........ Net 66 already this year and blew up on the last 4 holes to get that. If it ever comes together for 18 holes i will win by a mile

just gone down from 26 to 23. currently trying to solve the dreaded slice and trying to concentrate on keeping the left arm and chest from separating. set a realistic goal in january to drop handicap four points so well on target. have been working on driving a lot lately and now playing more second shots from the shorter grass. hopefully i can maintain a steady decrease in handicap, just joined the 16-28 handicappers section at my course for this year and am hoping to play on most competition days also. as for a champion waiting to burst out, if i can remember to concentrate for more than one and a half shots then who knows!!

Have I prepared for the season -- Borrowed clubs
What do I hope to do to my cap -- Try and get it on straight

Happy days :)

Have you prep'd for the season starting? I thought I was getting there, then my swing collapsed.

What do you hope to do to your cap in the first couple of months? maintain it and work for a cut later on.

Do you think there is a champion inside just waiting to burst out? I've signed up for my first medal in April regardless of the swing problems (I'm taking lessons again) but I think I'll postpone The Open until next year!

Currently off 14.0

Been preparing by working on my putting and installing a new swing. Not here yet lots of hooks still in there but getting better. Been working on short iron from <100 yard to improve GIR

Got a target of 12 for the season although there if I could be choosy I'd like to get down to 10. 12 seems more realistic though

There isn't a gross club champion in me but I always think I'm a good shot for the handicap prize.

Season really starts this weekend with the annual bogey competition. YOu must play any two days over the Easter weekend (Good Friday-Bank holiday Monday). Its the first gold board event so looking forward to it. Then comes the big one - the GM Challenge

Playing off 3.5 Just one good round needed to be playing off 3. However with the birth of my 2nd child due in 3 weeks, keeping my handicap there could be tricky.
I've been working on my wedge play and believe it's paying dividends, also putting on the carpet alot. This last action my well be my only golfing outlet in the coming months so I'll be a demon putter, but unable to actually get to the green.
