Here you go:
Cheers for that, I’ll have a proper look tomorrow, but seems up my street, I’m actually stiff as a dog but have put on some decent muscle in the last 6 months.
The problem is, the odd superb drive can’t outweigh the rest of the garage I produce 🙈

Golf come second fiddle last year but I need to get my head back in it if I’m going to play weekly or potentially drop down to a form of flexi membership.

Been having a series of lessons through the winter but haven’t really committed to the follow up practice as they haven’t really felt natural (until yesterday)

So,

Pre season prep has been junk, got 4 weeks garden leave so some time to get things in check. Finish the lessons and grind it out.

Need to either find a new course or stay at mine and accept its flaws

Stick with one putter.

Got a big pairs event this week and an honours board event in 2 weeks. Am I ready? Hopefully. My game over the winter has been very steady in terms of scoring bar one mad round of the shanks. My thinking on the course is clearer thanks to some app listening over the winter and with it getting much lighter in the morning I can't wait to get the season up and running

Been focussing on trying to get a bit more hip turn with objective of getting improved striking and distance with 5,6 and 7i and fairway woods. Happy with under 135yds, putter and driver.

Golf ‘Service’ Lesson on Monday to check that I’ve not been storing up problems.

All going well I could (should?) be able to get my HI down to under 6.0 (Got it to 6.7 last year) 5.8 or less would see me with a CH of 6 round my track, the lowest I’ve ever been, and that was some 35yrs ago.

After a poor year last year due to family problems a jump of three in my HC was not welcome. I've started this year ok, when I've bothered to go for a game. I'd like to reverse lasts years rise in HC and get back to where I was, but do you know what, it's great to get a five on our first hole, stroke 18, and then realise it's 5 for 2 points.

This year I've got rounds at the following booked;
Carnoustie Champ, New Course St.A, Royal Aberdeen, Trump Aberdeen, Castle Course St.A, Eden St.A, Jubilee St.A, The Dukes, Downfield, Muirfield, Elie, Blairgowrie x 2, Dalmahoy x 2, Machrihanish, Machrihanish Dunes, The Machrie, Dunaverty, Royal Dornoch, Brora, Tain, Fortrose & Rosemarkie, Nairn, Castle Stuart, Moray Old & New, Crail, Spey Valley and Boat of Garten, Goswick, Kingsbarns and Sunningdale New & Old. Not necessary in that order, just off the top of my head. There's probably another couple I've forgot about.

It's shaping up to be another mad year of golf. Who knows what will get added to that list. I'll probably go play TOC as well when I'm in St. Andrews.

I've had a couple of lessons, and focus has been on ball striking irons. Have seen a big improvement with that, but it's still lacking in consistency. I'd say more often than not now, I can hit a decent ball but the odd toe/heel or hosel rocket do come into play during practice and on the course so far. So directionally, it's not quite consistent. Dispersion from a distance POV has tightened a little but left to right hasn't. Have done a bit of work on playing from different lies to. When I have been out this winter, I've noticed I can't putt or chip anymore, which was always the strong part of my game, so I'll need to get back to practicing that more often. Next step with the lessons is to continue to practice the ball striking, playing from different lies. Then once that has improved a bit more we are going to look at the big stick and on the course stuff.

I've sorted out the bag for the year and I'm happy with clubs. Driver, 3 Wood, 3 Hybrid, 4 Hybrid, 5-PW, 48,52,56. Clubs for every distance now and certain situations and can actually hit the hybrids a bit better with my newly improved ball striking.

I have also been going to the gym and working on my health and fitness since I'll be playing a ton of golf this year, especially multiple rounds in a day or back to back days. Working with a PT who specialises in golf fitness specifically. Mobility, strength and power work. Early days with that but it's a process and will take time.

The goals...

1. To have fun, meet new people, enjoy playing at the top courses even if I'm having a stinker and generally have a good time
2. Reduce handicap as much as I can. Sitting at 16. Let's see if I can get down to 9.
3. Try win a couple of home club comps.
4. Improve my health and fitness and lose some weight.

It's shaping up to be a good year, but need to focus on practice and the results will come once the season kicks off properly

Made my debut for the county seniors team last year so hoping that I can become a regular player. If I can play as well as I did last year through the season I will be happy. Just need it to stop raining so that I can get some decent pre season practice done.

Fly to the sun for a few days. Base yourself somewhere that does decent winter deals for golfers. La Envia down near Almeria do some excellent winter deals, inc. golf. I’ve seen a deal there last winter that was for the full month of Jan, inc. golf, for €1800.

First pairs event of the three we paly for as an honour board event. Unsurprisingly it was rained off, as it was last year. Despite members pleas for many years that when it is on it's not played in ideal conditions it is still in the diary at the same time (and already booked in for same weekend in 2025). Hopefully it'll be played in March so Spring will be on the way and we may have dried out a hair

I'd really like my driver to be in better shape. Sometimes I hit it really well and sometimes it's low, sometimes a slice, sometimes a pull.

When I say sometimes I hit it well, I mean for a whole round. Then I'll have a crap round. It's very upsetting.

I'm afraid I have to report that that never changes.

🥺 no.... it must... 🥺
Well, actually, in my experience it's similar but the timescales get longer. Rather than driving well one round and crap the next, these days I drive well for three months and then terrible for two months, etc.
