Not something massively impressive I know, but it's the 1st time I've done it since I started playing again last year.

I fatted my tee shot at the par 3 14th as I normally do, just about cleared the bunker protecting the front left of the green and ended up 10 yards short of the green.

The fairway/fringe in front of the 14th isn't all that smooth and it's an up hill putt so I thought I'd chip it on with my PW. Thought I'd cacked it up, but it went straight, bounced about 15ft infront of the hole and rolled straight in for birdie.

No one else saw it as they were busy chatting to the group in front or playing their 2nd shots and when they both turned back round to the green they both went "did you chip it in?".

I was pretty chuffed until the nightmare unfolded on the 18th.

Always nice to hole out from off the green.

I canned a bunker shot on the first on Saturday. First time this year. Nice little sandy birdie.

I've holed a couple of Chips this year, but they're never when you need 'em with a Card in your hand are they !!

One of our gang had an Albatross 1 on Sat am, - Par4 2nd, 252yds, Driver off tee, saw it was safe but didnt see it go in !

1st one at the Club too - only Driveable since some tall trees were removed which were affecting the green.

Nice wee Dram in the Clubhouse following that one !

Well done mate. I've only chipped in once. Ballooned my 2nd at the 15th off to the right of the green and in amongst the thick rough next to trees. Walked over hoping to just dig it out. Lie was good so changed my mindset and knew i could get it close, second it released on the green i knew it was good.

My brother chipped in out a greenside bunker but didn't see it go in. Even me saying 'Brilliant, well done mate' didnt make him realise. I was standing over my putt when he finally noticed his ball wasn't on the green and shouted" wheres my baw? ' in a panicked voice. Idiot. :D

I have some good memories of chip ins,

Two in a row as a kid when playing with my uncle, didn't get the putter out till hole 3 :D
Holing out from a swale on our 9th in a match vs another club. Won us the hole to go 1up and ended up winning 5&4 without loosing another hole.

Since my short game went AWOL last year chip ins have been nothing but sepia coloured memories. However this Linear approach has really simplified it for me and I've had a couple of chip ins on the practice green so the ball is remembering the way into the hole. I just need to get one on the course and that will really reignite the short game fuse

Have holed an eight iron and a 30 yard bunker shot in the last year, but not a sniff of a chip in. A lot of our greens are raised, so chipping is not easy, even if you have mastered the lob wedge, which i haven't. :(

Had my 2nd chip in today, for a 2 at the 14th. If the grass hadn't been wet i think my tee shot would've come out the fringe and troubled the hole.

Had a couple of chips lip out as well,im getting there!
