Course closed last week because of snow, stuck in bed today and yesterday with tonsilitis, no chance of being well for tomorrow and I don't think it would go down well to head off to the golf course tomorrow
Wife took the kids to the mother-in-laws on wednesday
I had some time off
my local course finally thawed out on Wednesday afternoon
4 rounds of golf since then
I'll have to make the most of my last round tomorrow morning before i have to do non-golfing stuff
The only depressing thing has been my complete lack of skill, including hitting ELEVEN bunkers in one of my rounds
Weathers been great for about week and a half, sun splitting the sky and no wind every day.
Unfortunately my course has been under 6-8 inches of snow for nearly 2 weeks. Checked it out today and theres still no sign of it melting. At this rate it could be closed for another 2 weeks.
What a bummer
Since being covered in snow all the melt brought was flooding as the river and the lakes joined hands over the fairways. Consequently the course hasn't been playable since early January.
Now that the river level has dropped (for now!) it's still going to take some time for the course to drain.
It might have curtailled the rabbits and moles though - unless the little b's have taken up rafting.
