Oh Rory....

If my son was 24 & did it in a major I think I'd let it go tbh mate.

So 24 years old, an adult, doing what he does for a living, isn't having a great day and decides to wreck his tools. You can try and defend it as much as you want but it's indefensible. When things aren't going great then the answer isn't breaking things, it just isn't, how you earn your crust is irrelevant.

Seems like there a lot of mentally solid folk on this thread who have never got frustrated on a golf course after a poor shot.

Lighten up, there's a lot more to worry about than a golfer bending a club.

At the end of the day mate he bent a shaft:confused: seriously don't let it bother you.

If one of your kids did it, or something similar, would you find it acceptable or would you remonstrate with them?

My son is 25yrs old. If he did it whilst playing with me I think I'd laugh like a drain. He's only hurting himself after all.

Slime.

I heard Mahan use the F word.

Woods spat today.

Dufner swore on Friday.

Loar spat the other day.

That hugely audible F from Mahan has tipped me over the edge,I am off to bed. This nasty game is getting all to much for my precious eyes and ears.

I hope I don't encounter any of this in Tuesdays medal.I am not sure I could get to the end of the day if I do.:D:D

It just confirms his head's still not in the right place.

He knows he's got no chance of winning so what is there to get upset about?
So he dumped one in the water - still no need to bend a club and make life harder.

And do people really think Nike Executives are rubbing their hands with glee at what's happened...?

It doesn't bother me, what does bother me is the amount of people that feel breaking things is an acceptable and mature response to having a bad day.

If he lashed out at some one I'd agree, but he bent a piece of metal. I'm not trying to be funny with you mate,I just don't see it as been an issue.

Yes, probably, they are paying a guy who couldn't beat a one legged dwarf in a butt kicking contest at the moment a hell of a lot of money.

And are coining it in every time someone buys a shirt, pants or a pair of shoes. They'll make it all back twice over, 1 bent club won't make a jot of difference.

Sorry to burst the bubble, but they seriously don't. Some of their other mega stars in the Nike stable have done much worse. Yet they still proudly wear the Swoosh.

I do agree with you that Nike won't be happy as it looks like Rory is getting frustrated with his clubs.

Not just the club bending thing, the whole wee
With the amount of cash they're laying at Tiger and Rory's doors they expect a slightly better return than they're getting.
OK TIger's won 4 this year but Rory's been in ordit around a different Galaxy so far.
Believe me there will be mutterings in Nike HQ on Monday.....

Nothing will come of it but they won't be jumping for joy.

They probably do or they deserve to go bust TBH, I doubt any of their other tour players have a deal for 150 mill.

edit - Tiger excepted obviously.

Haha you guys... honestly haha..

How many times have we seen sportsmen getting frustrated and lashing out, Rory didnt even lash out, he leaned on his iron for gawds sake, wise up.
New signing Kyle Stanley is 28 over, not even one clip of him this weekend, hardly good value?

Really?? Do you really believe what you just posted?

Nike are in with Rory for the Long haul, what he does this week won't make a blind piece of difference to their long term thoughts. The only muttering a you may get in the Nike offices are of Schwartzels current blow up.

I'm sure Brian O'Driscolls petulant kick in his last 6 nations match sent shock waves through Irish rugby ;)
