Some may of read i was looking to change my putter to a mid mallet from a blade

Always had a desire to have the Odyssey 7 putter after trying it before and seeing a few Pros using it

Anyway went ahead and purchased the White Ice version

Interested to hear from other owners and how it behaves on the greens, short and long putts

The weight and face balanced style is superb as is the alignment aid, a tad large granted but apart from that a great putter

There is one thing I think you need to be aware of, yes the putter is great, super easy to line up and rolls the ball really well however on slower greens it does need a bit of oomph to get the ball to the hole. It is really easy to leave them short on slower winter greens. When you get on the good fast ones though I cannot think of a better putter.

Thats down to the insert isnt it, thats the problem I had with a Sabretooth. Bought a no 7 a few mths ago but one of my mates has nicked it, may try and get one with the metal x face though ideally would prefer them to make it in their protype range with a milled face

good feedback, thanks

This was also a fault with the two ball, deadly close up, tough on longer putts

Blade putters are excellent for feel but i was suffering from alignment and hope the 7 will improve my score !

I've the sabretooth and gave noticed over the winter alot of putts coming short, or having to give it some. Since the weather got better and greens cut shorter the putting gas returned!! And I thought it was me!!

don't wish to be a grumpy old git but i have to ask the question,WHY buy a putter you haven't tried out on the course just because some pro uses it then ask on here what it plays like, why didn't you just use it for a round before buying???

i have the new 1 and the old 1, the old 1 has a softer insert on the face which in my opinon gives great feel i always said would never change it, but i did and got the newer 1 , i do seem to hole a fair few longer putts with itbut still unsure if i like old or new

Thanks for the comments, please note i didnt say i got it just because a certain pro uses one although it made me take more note about trying it.

I have looked and tried this putter approx for a year now but never purchased,

The model is the White Ice which has the firmer face compared to the softer White Hot model

I also wasnt asking what is it like, i already know that fact hence why i parted with £79 notes ( £20 off )

I was purely interested in any little niggles that other owners may of noticed which they have and i appreciate the feedback.

I have the White Hot Tour which is firmer still, has a bigger head and is gold/bronze.

Looks the Biz and putts like it too.
Thanks for the reply, they do seem to have a good name as a reliable putter if you prefer the face balanced style etc

I have the white hot version. Had one then sold it to a mate because I had a burning desire for a scotty del mar but didnt get on with it when I got it. Then got a white hot sabretooth but didnt like the feel of the insert for some reason. Brought another #7 a few months back with the white hot insert and have fallen in love with it all over again.

Got one myself again with the white hot insert. Love it. Got it shortened to 32" and although still a weak area of my game I am improving. I've also got an MD Tralee but fail to get on with it due to the fact I'm used to the heavier head of the #7.

no problem sorry, by the way you should have bought a PING CRAZEE ten times better putter.

Love mine. Weight of it is great and feels really steady. Helps make a positive stroke. Cheapest I could find them when I got mine was here for £65. It's now dropped to £60! Absolute bargain Clicky for bargain!
(I am in no way associated with this retailer, I just love a bargain)
