Now TV Sports Passes

As I've kicked Sky into touch I'll need to use other means to watch The Open...
Now TV sports pass looks to be the best bet...
Do I need to buy the dedicated box or can I use my smart TV as is?
And, where's the best place to buy passes or should I just deal direct...
