Isn't it. The drive around the grounds was also a surpise, taking an easy 25 mins.
Took the grandkids round there and they loved walking round the river. Thought it a right adventure. Odd how you forget things and a little memory comes along 👍

Planning a visit to Northumberland next year with my wife. Definitely looking to play plenty of the courses on that coast. Probably in early June..

Where should we stay?
We stay in Beadnell
It has 2 pubs / hotel , cafe and great chippy . Beadnell beach is superb. We like to walk along the beach to Seahouses golf club for lunch . Great little course with 2 great par 3s ., Dunstanburgh Castle GC also very good

We also had lunch at Seahouses Golf Club, easy car parking across the road and a walk along the beach towards Beadnell, also recommend Ross Sands & Budle Bay for beach walks as well as Embleton Bay a little further south.

In case anyone spends a week looking for it, I think that is meant to be Budle Bay. Lovely spot, good recommendation (y)
Thanks, Edited now.

It was a little hard to find drove past a couple of times and no obvious places to park up but we managed it.
Ross Sands on the other side of the bay is equally impressive, you get the impression you could walk to Holy Island.
