Big birthday holiday destinations

Thanks all, loads of great advice.

As for a cruise, it's a no from the boss. My mum and dad have spoken about them for years, love them but my Mrs isn't keen on the thought of them. I totally get the attraction of them but it's a no.

What about a staycation?
On our 60th ( joint, the same year) we jumped out of a plane.
(Ok, we were strapped to a skydiver).

Totally off topic :

Or do a city break in the likes of Glasgow or Liverpool where at night you can experience jumping out of a taxi
(ok you’re strapped to a chav/ned but still) ;)

There is a "wealth middle ground" I think

It's hard to define wealthy. It's relative, bit like the other thread asking if a millionaire is rich. When I think of "wealthy" I think of people with ferraris, yachts, helicopters etc. But I totally agree with you there is a big middle ground of people who are "comfortable". The average annual full-time earnings for the top ten percent of earners in the United Kingdom was £66,669 in 2023, and I wouldn't describe that salary as wealthy at all.
