Living on the Isle of Man I had the pleasure of meeting Sir Norman on 4 or 5 occasions, he was a absolute gent and legend everytime, always had a smile on his face and he will be sorely missed by everyone

Crikey, I thought we'd lost him years ago 
A brilliant performer, but I found it increadibly sad to watch him don the flat cap and then deliberately fall over when he was well into his 70s and 80s. Just to get a laugh
In his later years I preferred seeing the ( albeit few ) more serious roles he took on.
A master of his art.

Used to love watching his films, and he could do the pathos really well I thought, plus he had a great singing voice. Sad loss.

Not even in the same league while they are still alive. A comic genius, hugely underrated actor and untiring charity worker. One of the last greats!

One of my favourite old films, (can't think of the title)
when he sung, "Don't laugh at me 'cos I'm a fool", used to bring tears to my eyes, probably still would now.
A true, "Legend", in every sense of the word.
