NFL 2024

I was half asleep on the sofa while the Lions v Commanders game was on. Saw the Commanders were up by a couple on the 3rd quarter. Thought to myself that the Lions would still have enough to get the job done. Nope!

Playoff football is rife with strange results. It’s the cup run after the league. Always a dark horse in there somewhere. Just want someone to beat the bloody Chiefs!

I’m not usually one to bemoan the officials in the NFL, but the Chiefs get away with murder. Jared Goff was just about murdered in the NFC game and no flag. Someone sneezes near mahomes and it’s a roughing the passer flag. Twice it happened at least twice on 3rd down to force punts. Just gets boring. Texans didn’t help themselves with poor kicking but the game could have a very different outcome if not for calls like that, which seem to happen every week with the Chiefs playing.

The Lions just had no-one healthy left from their starting 11 on defense. The only way they were going to win the Super Bowl was for three near-perfect offensive performances to outscore the other team. They got bad Jared Goff on Saturday.
I think the "Chiefs get all the calls" memes have gotten out of control and now everyone believes it regardless. I watched the highlights of the KC v Houston game and can see both sides, why the officials made the calls they did and why people complained about them.
There is a motion at the next NFL owners meeting for the Competition Committee to decide if coaches can challenge a personal foul call, as in was it a hit to the head or not. That could well get through.
But as for the Texans, when you give up a 60-yard return on the opening kickoff and the guy making the tackle way downfield gets called for taking his helmet off to celebrate, well that is just your own fault for sheer stupidity.

After next Sunday, every NFC team will have played in the NFC Championship game in the last 30 seasons except....... hello Jerry.... . Jerry are you there? :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

No, lost in the divisional game.
They won the Super Bowl in 1996 ?

Watching the game now and it’s snowing in Philadelphia

I’m guessing that the Super Bowl has only been played in Dome if there is a potential of snow etc or has there been a Super Bowl in freezing temps and snow

I share your pain - I have no real interest once the Bucs were eliminated (which was about three months after the Browns).

NFC - Philly should man-handle Washington next weekend but the Redskins/Commanders/Whatever seem to be the team of destiny right now.
AFC - The juggernaut game - Godzilla v King Kong. KC v Buffalo. Baltimore choked that one away with turnovers and TE Mark Andrews costing his team the game with those two drops. Buffalo have a great running game with Josh Allen's mobility and Ray Davis finding the kinks (geddit) in the defense. KC has Mahomes and a dozen clips of Kelce's over-made-up tart in the stands.

I'll pass and settle for either watching hockey or the final round of whatever PGA Tour event is on next Sunday.

I enjoyed the Eagles - Rams game last night in the snow. Was there for the Rams on the final drive but didn't happen. Good work by the Eagles on the field goals in those conditions!

Saw the highlights only of the Ravens - Bills game, with Ravens chucking three turnovers and as PS pointed out, two uber-costly drops from Andrews.

Don't mind who wins now, just not the Swifties.

I’m stuck between a rock and a hard place for this AFC Championship game, any chance they could both lose? Can’t stand the media love in for the Chiefs and the timely personal fouls for Mahomes to keep drives alive. And *** the Bills. 😂

The Eagles might win it all without Hurts throwing for more than 200 yards, their OL is ridiculous and he’s looked horrendous trying to throw the ball for the last month.

Commanders are the Cinderella story but I just can’t see them beating the Eagles and the Chiefs/Bills to win it all.

Not a chance now! Bucs coach Todd Bowles now owes me a dinner when I am in Tampa in March. I just found a clip for him when he scored an interception return touchdown in the 1986 pre-season as a rookie for Washington against the Bucs. I need to get a cut for everytime he now shows that play to his team in meetings.
