They are just very busy. Took them a week to get back to me. My issue of the app crashing is a known issue they are working on.

It crashed again after 4 holes but I stuck it on gps and track without scoring and it didn’t crash again. Was intending to do it from the start but pressed the wrong button and didn’t have time to exit the round and reload.

They are, took them a week on my first request. I've done GPS & Track and it was fine. Only real concern is probably user error in selecting GPS only when choosing a 2nd 9 holes to play..

Yeah, I’m thinking a mix of touchscreen and buttons useage will work best.

Minor frustration that there's no quick one button/gesture tap or swipe that makes you go back or forward a hole.

Sometimes when you're on or near the green and it's close to the next hole/tee box then it skips onto that next hole.

I agree there needs to be a quicker way of accessing the game menu. Have you report the tee box issue as a bug?

I suspect that there will be a firmware update with changes to the menu, one of the major gripes people have is how drawn out the process is to reach parts of the menu mid-round.

All seemingly OK yesterday until the 18th where it finished the round for me after hitting my 2nd shot.

Round uploaded ok but annoying none the less...

I played without scoring today and it crashed on 12 which is a record!

However it move to 14 while on the green and thought I was on 17th green when 180 yards from it.

All in all this "upgrade " doesn't like much of one.....
Thankfully I was in the market for a new watch but if this was from my place of work I’d be expecting to be sorting these types of issues on the internal trials prior to launch, even more so for a premium unit.

It does a lot for a GPS watch to be fair and it feels so much more premium than the V3 but for the life of me I’ve not had the time to figure out how to add a penalty during the round. Also, the club identifier reading the tag I’d rather than something close to what it’s attached to is a bit of a letdown For a premium product.

It should be great once they’ve ironed out the bugs but as I said, some of these should’ve been done before launch.

9 holes on Thursday in the rain and I have never seen a touch screen react so badly. I ended up using hole 19 app on a iPhone max, which has far more screen real estate, without problem. Non-scoring round of 18 on Friday and it was absolutely fine.

I’m so very torn about the product and am considering sending it back and use an Apple watch for hole 19 In future (though I would miss the shot tracking facility, which is good when it works consistently)

Or try to sell it, and upgrade to a V3 ?

Feels very much like a Garmin product when most of the new launches have issues.

I have turned the lock screen back on for mine, it started buzzing when I was in a bunker during the round on Friday - very annoying - turned out that my glove was putting some pressure on the main button and it was buzzing to stop me resetting the device..

This is the problem I have with Apple watch using hole 19 and you get a text message. Have to say it’s nice to leave it at home and not have the distraction.

Presume the tags still work when the screen is locked and unlocks itself when on the green.

I don't really need the screen that shows the green and pin placements as I also use a laser

I've flogged mine. Had gone back to using my v3 which is not as stylish, but much less pfaffing about, and much simpler to use while still providing all the functionality I need
I had high hopes for the X5, but personally found it was a case of style over substance.
Hopefully they'll sort out the issues soon.

It looks like they shipped something that wasnt fit to sell, and expect customers to be free quality control and a bug resolving team for no return other than grief and frustration. Similar culture to some other companies in the tech world, but still dreadful. If you buy something it should work. That customer service is listening and problems are hopefully solved soon is no mitigation.

Reading these reviews I’m kinda happy I stuck with the V3 but with no subscription fees I suspect ShotScope need the X5 to be a success. Hope they get the bugs ironed out.
