Currently have a Samsung S10

Wife's phone is playing up thinking of upgrading mine and giving her this until her contract ends

However new phones a lot don't come with micro SD card slots.

So anyone know of a phone that had the following

Android
micro SD slot
Fingerprint not on the screen itself hate that
And waterproof

Google pixel 5 has all but the card slot
Nokia 8.3 has all but waterproof

Anyone know of a phone that fits those?

Why's that, just out of interest? Mine is like that, and it occasionally doesn't recognise my print (often when I'm on the golf course, weirdly). Is that just a symptom of it being on the screen rather than a separate reader?

I think it's me, sometimes it decides that finger print isn't readable .....

Happens a lot tbh

Prefer the finger print on the back or side (wife's phone has on back but isn't waterproof) lol

You could try the Sony Experia 1 ii.
There's not a lot of phones around that meet all your criteria. I agree about the on-screen fingerprint sensor on the Samsung. I hate it. The one on the back of my Motorola G7 Power is much more responsive and easy to use.

I wonder if that will be the one I have to drop to get a phone

The SD slot tho

If it helps, if you can do without the SD card slot, the pixel 5 is a great choice. Massively improved battery life over the old pixels, does everything well without a massive price tag

That's my choice if I can't get one with a SD slot

Why the memory card slot? Not many new phones bothering with them any more, I think.

Just for the memory, I like the SD slot , I mean I have a ton of photos on my phone I know you can get online storage but just if my phone breaks I got the SD card straight in new phone

But then I only got an SD slot 2 years ago I was apple for yeaes

Then again the pixel 5 has the free Google photo storage still

Storing tons of pics on a phone? That is what the cloud is for. Google photo's = Free storage for up to 15gb (storage level is across the google items so drive, gmail etc.) If someone nicks your phone you don't lose your pictures.

I have a Samsung A40 and my photo's automatically back up to the cloud. So simple.

Get past this issue and then a much bigger range of phones become available to you.

I bought a Samsung A51 last year. Runs on Android, has a microSD card slot (I have a 512Gb card in mine), does the fingerprint recognition if you want it, not officially classed as waterproof but tests have apparently shown it is at least very water resistant.

Free storage of 15gb isn't enough lol my pics are 50gb I believe

But yes I'm looking at the pixel with free cloud storage forever for photos and video

May be onto a winner but not this exact model

The Sony Experia 5 ii seems to hit all the points I need with £35 a month and nothing upfront
