New club joined!

May be relatively expensive by Scottish standards, but still cheap compared to 'down here'!

I was a member of 2 Edinburgh clubs while working there. I joined a course of similar standard on returning south and it cost over 50% more than the combined cost of the 2 Edinburgh clubs!

Ridiculously cheap further North!

Heart bleeds.

Death or glory is a great hole, burn running across it ready to catch those going for the green in 2.

Nice eagle for me on "Death or Glory" today. Smashed the drive, though, so the burn wasn't really in play.

First time playing as a member - just a cheeky seven holes at lunchtime. Shame about the 4 bogeys to go with it! :o

I got interviewed for a job around the corner from there, gutted I didn't get it!

I'm 2 for 2 on eagles at Duddingston since joining. One on the 5th- drove the green and sank my 5 footer and one on the 17th reaching in two and sinking the putt.

Playing the greensomes on Saturday so putting pressure on my partner to keep the eagle trend going....

Good hitting!

The 5th is out of range for me but today I managed to sky my drive, got more height than distance. Felt daft hitting a 5 iron for the approach, instead of a sand wedge.... with a greenkeeper watching of course. At least I hit the green!

Thanks, from memory I can't see why it has the name it does - I hit driver 7 iron I think.

From playing the last few weeks it is a fairly short par 5 but for a lot of golfers (and certainly when the course was designed) the burn runs right across the fairway just short of where you would play your second shot to. One of my PPs was playing with a member who told him it may need to be something less than a driver off the tee when it is dry as the burn can capture some great drives.
