New club joined!

Now that's just greedy! Although the cost probably not as prohibitive as down here?

Maybe not quite as pricey but not cheap. It's only a temporary situation, wouldn't have joined before my other membership expired but was offered a good deal to join right away when I enquired about next year.

Will it help you decide where to hang your hat if you go one club next year? We've joined another club as considering a move next year. The downside is I don't quite feel I belong at either club now so not sure it's helping!

Problem I have is that the "ideal" club I imagine I'd like to belong to doesn't exist locally.

Still planning to keep a foot in my home club. I have friends there and it's got a bigger female membership, we play in the local scratch league etc. New club is a better course, much better practice facilities, closer to home but doesn't participate in the inter-club team stuff to the same extent.

Probably doesn't make sense to belong to two Edinburgh parkland courses long term so may well have to make a choice this time next year.

Why give up a links to be a member of two soggy parkland winter tracks?

Duddingston is cracking but it must get wet. Also where else do you play?

Fair enough but a winter track on decent greens is a God send when your going stir crazy on bumpy greens and mud up to your knees.

Loved Duddingston. Alastair is an absolute gentleman.

That's the truth. I've still got the links membership this winter.... will need a new plan next year! ;)

Hope you enjoy Duddingston, sounds like a good course.

Is that the same course right next to Prestonfield?

I come down to Edingburgh to visit my daughter 3/4 times a year and stay 10 mins. from Prestonfield ,which I have played before, will try to play Duddingston next time I'm down.

That's the one. Well worth a visit

Edinburgh, is just about the same as down there i would imagine... not up here though;)

May be relatively expensive by Scottish standards, but still cheap compared to 'down here'!

I was a member of 2 Edinburgh clubs while working there. I joined a course of similar standard on returning south and it cost over 50% more than the combined cost of the 2 Edinburgh clubs!

Ridiculously cheap further North!
