I treated myself to a Cleveland Launcher Gold 5 wood for £65 reduced from £99 today.
On my way home from work i called into AG in warrington for a nosey at what they had on offer and ended up trying a new cobra s2 i think and the cleveland out on the range.

I didn't really hit the cobra well but creamed the cleveland so now its in the bag! ;)

I've got the 4 wood in my bag and its a great club - best fairway I've had since the days of the Callaway Steelhead.

And a good deal at that price.

Hope you take to it well

I've got the cleveland hi bore XLS in my bag which were out a few years back but which are still hitting the ball well. HID even offered to buy me a new TM fairway wood for Easter and despite being a TM fan turned her down as I'm happy with my set up

I was like a little kid couldn't wait to get to the club to play 9 holes and try it out.

My first hit was a duff but the next few times i used it i was long and straight so i'm happy.

I've not had a 5 wood for the last few years but i've struggled on my home course, especially on 2 holes where i need that few more yards when my 18* hybrid isn't enough and my 3 wood is very erratic to say the least.

I tried it on the 450ish par 4 where i struggle to par and was on for 2 and left a putt 6" short!

Though it's early days i'm very happy with it. It was priced up at £99 so being a cheeky sod i asked what he could do it best price, when he said £65 i snapped his hand off.

Following a build-up from Imurg, I bought the exact same club a few weeks ago from AG Hazel Grove. Very, very pleased so far. Great off the tee on short holes, but you will probably need to tee it well down. Excellent from the rough, with good ball flight and distance, and easy to use from the fairway. Haven't used my Mizuno Hi-Fli utility since - not needed to.

After waking up to this mornings weather, i decided to go down the range and give the new stick a bash. I hit it very well off the range mats and it felt great with a nice piercing ball flight.

I hope i can transfer it out on the course, hopefully it'll help get my handicap down. All in all i'm very happy with it.

I had a look at the new TM Superfast today (didn't hit them). Look pretty good and sit well but come on TM £150 for a fairway wood - are you having a giraffe

Whilst there are idiots out there buying TM's overpriced overhyped rubbish, they'll keep increasing their prices.

TM pay top dollar to pro's for using their gear so they need to recoup as much as possible through their quarterly updated gear.
