I would like to see that.
If I see you at a forum meet you can. I am using a 16 degree rescue to do that. It goes like a 3-wood but with a 5 iron control.

No but I've been demoing the Nike vr pro blades and the results are very inspiring :ears:
Mine goes like a 5 iron with the control of a 3 wood.I am using a 16 degree rescue to do that. It goes like a 3-wood but with a 5 iron control.

My Hybrid is two and a half inches shorter than my 3 wood, no way can it go the same. If there is a club that goes the same with 5 iron control, someone is onto a fortune.
I was never a hybrid fan however I guess I'd never found one with the right shaft. I always ballooned hybrids they went sooooo bloody high.

Fairway woods and hybrids are very different in construction. The size of the head is the obvious difference but the weighting inside the head isn't.
In general, fairways will put more spin on the ball as their Centre of Gravity is lower and further back in the head than a hybrid. If you have a decent swingspeed this can cost you yards. The ball spins too much and it doesn't penetrate. The hybrid, generally, puts less spin on the ball - combine this with a shorter shaft and you may find that you make a better overall connection than with the fairway.
One of the US mags did a test with a 19 degree hybrid and fairway. Slow swingers got lots more distance from the fairway because the extra spin kept the ball in the air for longer.
The faster swingers saw virtually no difference in carry between hybrid and fairway. Many were more consistent with the hybrid - mainly due to the shorter shaft.
So it's not beyond the realms of possibility that a similar lofted hybrid can carry as far as a similarly lofted fairway.
