If you haven't changed the key from default and it is written on the bottom then chances are you just need to renter the key but make sure you get the caps and 0's not o's etc

What type of router do you have?

You should be able to log into your router via an IP address (that should be printed on the base of your router). You can then find out what the password is.

I have the orange router, and punched in the numbers/letters from underneath but it took me about 4 attempts until I realised it was case sensitive.

Click on the wireless connection icon on the task bar of your PC.

Go into properties for your connection.

Then click the security tab

Check the box that says show characters.

Your network key will be visible then.

windows usually has a setting to view the password characters.

However, before you get too carried away, I tried to connect my android tablet to an orange box on wednesday and it failed.

If you enter the passkey as written on the wifi router and it doesn't work, either you'll need to access the routers settings and check the saved password, or you've had it.

My friend bought an asus netbook and was totally unable to get on her orange broadband. Her it tech from work claimed it was an unfixable DHCP problem. Even he couldn't fix it. Sorry

think this is whats happening, this will sound daft to those who know but... can i buy my own router and connect it up and still be orange, how easy/hard.

on your pc hit start, run,
type cmd, hit enter
type ipconfig, hit enter

you now see a black page with white writing, look for the default gateway, write down the Ip address
something like 192.168.1.1

Open an internet explorer/ firefox page and type the ip address into the address bar

you should now be on the router login

The User name is often admin
the password is often password or admin

when in , look for wireless security settings
often the one you are using will be under key 1

write it down,

This is the code you need to use, it may be case sensitive

Hope this helps, if not PM me and i will see what else I can do

Are you logged in to an account with admin privilidges?

The checkbox may be greyed out if your not on an admin account.

We have orange broadband and the procedure I posted is all I did to get the network key.

Hope you get it sorted.

Cheers
