Needing club advice

Recently been playing with an older set of Ping G15s and hit them ok but was not too keen on the excessive chunky look off the longer irons when at address so I've taken the plunge and sold them on.

Now my question is, what are people's opinions on decent iron sets for around the £200 mark for a 20's handicapper like myself.

I've tried the Calloway XR pros and enjoyed those although they are a tad out of my current price range.

Any advice would be greatly accepted (club ideas will be taken to a local shop to see if they can source and fit for me)

Thanks.

If you like the xr pro I'd say the callaway razr x would be a great alternative. Have used them myself and highly rate them. Should get 4-pw for under 200 notes

What do you mean by longer irons, to me that is 4,3 and up. Have you looked at not having these and replacing with rescues/hybrids. Please keep in mind that in a modern set the 6 iron may well have the same loft as your G15 4 iron.

Thank you for the prompt replies I'll have a look at the Callaway razr x clubs.

I currently don't get on with hybrids, for some reason we don't seem to like each other, I do however have a lesson booked to address this

I Play the i20's and love them, they don't look chunky but are pretty forgiving and you can shape shots easy enough if you want.

Their game improver range, the pro versions are forged. The 825/850s are arguably one of the best looking cavity back irons in the price range.

What about the I20's? Few options here as a starting point.

Thanks for the help gents, tried some Razr X, AP1's, Ping I20's and I25's and have taken the plunge with the I25's as they gave me the best results on the shops computer software. Already tried them on the course for a quick few holes, and bar an initial 6 iron shank they played excellently and I almost looked like I knew what I was doing at times.

Thank you for your help gents..now to find reasonably priced golfing attire for this weather!
