Why, Bearwood Lakes of course.

Many, Many thanks to Paul for today - splendid company around a splendid course.
Thanks to Ross and Simon too - some good banter to offset the slightly dodgy golf on offer at times in a sometimes tricky breeze - some decent golf from all of us too.....

The par 3's got me today - really didn't strike my irons well but I drove well (10 fairways hit) and took 31 putts with no 3 putts on greens, whilst apparently quite slow, still make those at my place look like a turnip field!

Still to play well at a Forum meet - got another go Monday week at Camberley. What can possibly go wrong...?

Love Bearwood Lakes. Looking forward to an invite some time or paying a green fee and seeing how the recent changes have enhanced the course. Pretty tricky to play well in the wind today. 31 putts on those greens is good going. I wouldn't worry, bet I'm playing worse than you in time for Camberley

Ian - it was my pleasure - great company from yourself, Simon and Ross - and for the second week running I (and Simon) sneak the win with a 5-foot downhiller on the 18th! Course looked good today and was dry, which was a great acievement after the amount of rain we have had. I feel a bit envious of the guys in the match against Celtic Manor who were spilling out on to the balcony as we finished - that will be a big piss up tonight! You got to see one of my favourite views in the world - Bearwood in the early evening sun with the shadows forming from the trees between 1 and 7 - bit of a soppy comment, but it makes life feel better! Anyway - better get to bed after a few beers tonight ready for golf at Broadstone tomorrow - looks a cracking course and really looking forward to it - another weekend of double golf - that does not happen often! But got it again in the club champs next weekend - will try again to be the elusive one who can play to handicap over 2 days and win the boobie prize! Fat chance

If you lived close enough to Bearwood it would be a no brainer to join there however much it costs - lovely course.

Many many thanks to Paul for hosting us. Very impressed with the course as it was, is, and will pretty soon be - and, given my work environment, it takes quite a bit to do that!

Now played it 4 times and got lost on the way there 3 of those - and I only live about 20 miles away!

Pure bliss from the view from the first to the conversation with an ex-Handicap Secretary (sorry, I'm passionate about that) over Peronis!

Wonderful downhill slider by Paul for the win. I'm sure Ian's back and legs got exercised carrying me for most of the round and a couple of abberations around the turn meant we were 3 down after 11 but a couple of putts finally dropping (greens were as good as I've played in a year!) meant we got it back to only needing a win (giving a shot!) on the last to tie! Not to be, but a really pleasant round on a fabulous course!

The changes to the pond on 8/9 are great - even though the 9th cost me a pound to the Captain's mug - and the 10th now also sparkles- even if the golf didn't. Well played Simon for doing the simple things well!

I think I've got the new Driver sorted out for Camberley. If a couple more putts drop I'll be quite happy. Looking forward to meeting more forum members there.

PS. Paul. 2008 Swan Trophy? - what's that about? Bit close to the Ladies boards?

Huge thanks to Paul for hosting yesterday and to Ian and Ross for their company.

Course was amazing I thought. Each hole different and almost all set away from each other. Although there were groups going off the first one after the other you didnt really see many other golfers as you were going round.

Favourite holes for me probably the 11th and 12th - looking back down the 11th and the view of the lake from the 12th tee both lovely.

My golf wasnt up to much yesterday generally but a few pars, decent chips and holed putts make it all worth it and meant Paul didnt have to do absolutely everything for us
