Had a fantastic day again today and the weather was top draw,

Been hitting the ball well lately so seen as the father in law did some vids, i thought i'd share them with you!

180 yard par 3, 5 iron

I am second on the tee, first chap is the bro in law (plays off 17)

Par 5 tee shot FT-5

Yes I took 40 seconds for my tee shot (is this too long?)

Thoughts please, good or bad!

If I had that backswing I would be off scratch. You need to work on your through swing but the basics are there. Should come tumbling down.

Do you ever get round in daylight tho???

Ok will accept you were under a bit of pressure.

You turn well but roll it slightly on the way back which makes you lift it a bit at the top. No Disastrous!

However every action causes a reaction, and you are weak thro the hitting area.

Left side is not leading, which should be caused by right foot pushing/turning towards target.

It looks to me that you get out a bit early and are leaking out to the right?

Am I wrong?

There is clearly talent enough for single figures there I promise.

That swing is a combination of 2 pro's haha.

Davethepro's backswing and my local pro's grip and stance.

Thanks Gill, Yes that driver is just awsome! When it goes it GOES!

The second, from behind shows a bit more.

Yeah i am not entirely sure i know what your talking about (sorry)

I have a tendency to shift my weight too much which my pro calls 'sliding'... is this what you mean?

Also you say i am weak through the hitting area, you have to break that down for me too, again sorry i am new to the game dont forget lol.

Only reason i dont get the weak comment is because i bombed that drive a good 250 and they are srixon soft feels :D

Your timing must have been spot on for the drive, sliding is right.

I magine a lateral rather than rotational move from the top (sliding the hips towards the target).

It leaves the clubhead open and therefore you rely on timing to close it and square up to the line.

Weak meant that you were not right on top of the ball at impact.

Ok thanks,

Yes the sliding is something i am working on. Basically I now have to concentrate on the rotation only and avoid the slide.

I only had my lesson on it last week so it will take some time to groove but i am confident it will.

P.S Cheers for being patient lol.

I find making sure I dont lose the angle in my right knee helps.
When I am coiled properly it is easier to unwind.

I also feel that I am casting it which panicks me but it works.
