I lined my shot up tonight on the first, started my back swing and crack it just fell apart?

While i was locking my car in the car park my stand bag blew over, thats the only thing i can think of that might of fractured it, lucky i didnt take someones head off with the shrapnel!

Could someone give me a ball park figure of getting it re shafted?

I might even invest in the callaway FT-IQ, any feedback on the driver would be great, is it a gimmick or quality, my snapped driver was a callaway 460.

Thanks for reading.

A gutted Mark.

I had a Callaway 460 - now sitting in the garage as just got a new shiny FT-iQ. I've never been able to hit as long or as straight - now driving 30 yards at least more than before - same as my mates that tried it last weekend.

Try it out - its a huige amount of money, but already made £20 from longest drive competition at Ganton last weekend!

Cheers

Kevin

You could be looking at £60+ for a shaft and £120+ for a top end option. I love my Ping G10 and would recommend it to anyone who will listen. However for £100 you can get a BRAND NEW Ben Sayers Benny with Grafalloy shaft and Golf Pride New Decade grip.

Out of interest how old is it? I'm wondering if you could take it back and get it sent to the manufacturer. If not, I guess around £70-100 for a decent shaft and regrip. If you aren't too fussed on being up to date, things like the 08 Burner, G5, and the 08 Cleveland Hi bore would all be around the £100 mark

The club was a hand me down from my Dad, i would say it was 2-3 years old, as i am new to the game i am a bit loathed to change the club because i was getting along quite well with it.

Perhaps i should bite the bullet and go for the FT-IQ?, i am a callaway fan so i will go out and try a demo and see how i go.

Thanks for the advice.

I feel your pain. The same thing happened to me friday, having it sent back to Wilson to see what they say. I was looking at 80 quid for a new shaft and when I only paid 100 for it I really don't want to be buying a new shaft.

And??? Is that good then?

I'm getting a new driver soon ish and have to admit i'm not looking forward to splodging £150+ for a new one,if a Ben Sayers Benny is good then for that price its worth a look isnt it?

Snapped driver was a callaway 460.

No reason to be gutted. Callaway will exchange it for a nice new one. Phone them up and sort it!!!

If you can't be bothered to sort it out you can get a decent brand graphite for £30-40 easily. Depends what you want.

I've replaced two Callaways, both times they offered to send me one.

Not a member at Ganton - we played their twice a couple of weekends ago - beautiful course despite the 60 mph winds and driving rain - oh and the lost Pro V1's... also played Fulford, Whitby and Scarbourgh North Shore - was a great trip...

I had a similar problem with my FT-i last November. The club head shattered as i hit one off the tee. My club pro sent it to Callaway, and despite them reckoning it had been trodden on, which it wasn't, they still (very kindly) replaced the whole club. So thumbs up to Callaway i reckon.
I was also really grateful to my club pro also as i did not even buy the club from him in the first instance.

I also feel your pain. After responding to HTL's post. Mine broke on me yesterday at the hosel.
I took it back today, exchanged it, no questions asked. He said that it will be a flaw in the shaft. He has sent back a cobra, a cleveland and two taylormade THIS WEEK! So it's not down to a specific brand.

Having thought about damage, I did let KeefG hit one with it the other week :D
