Mr Woods

Just thought i would let you good forum members know Tiger had been nominated Athlete of the decade by USA based sports editors.

After all the bad press recently i am sure this will do him a world of good!!

Can't make out why you are indicating boredom with TW threads. You must be interested or you wouldn't bother to read them in the first place and then post in them yourself. :D :D

Aw come on, he does spell it differently each time

I think a lot of these platitudes whilst nice to have mean very little to Tiger. Before he got caught he would have considered 2009 a mixed season. He's on record as saying it was a bad year purely because he didn't win a major which gives you an idea of the targets he sets. Given the number of wins per start ratio, his top 5 finishes where he didn't come first and to most others that would be a stellar season.

Whilst I don't think any of these are a sympathy award or the industry's way of showing support or deflecting attention, it does show exactly how highly regarded he is as a sporting icon in the US. Give this until Easter once his wife has left him formally and returned to Sweden and the Masters is on the horizon and he'll have served his pennance in the eyes of the US media and they will let him go about his golfing business.

If Usain Bolt was American they'd have given it to him.

Fot jaw dropping sporting achivement Usian Bolt and Lance Armstrong did far more than Woods or any golfer IMO.

Golf is a game a lot of us play because we're too old or too fat to play proper sports i.e. sports where you have to break a sweat. Golf is barely a sport at all in many ways.

Not knocking it, I love golf, but you know what I mean.

For Me, Bolt was the more deserving for natural talent
Lance Armstrong for sheer guts
Tiger is near the top, but not above these two.

maybe it is because the people who vote for him are too fat to run 100 meters even in 20 seconds, or too fat to sit on a bike without breaking it, but they can carry their fat backsides round a golf course with the aid of a buggy, so they associate themselves with Golf and therefore Tiger. So he gets the vote.

By the way Im fat and Imurg (baby Bro) is even chubbier, so no anti fat comments please

where's me Mars bar gone?

Of the decade - surely not Bolt, he's only been around for a moment.
Armstrong surely for consistent, dominant performance at the highest level in the most punishing arena over a sustained period.
