most shots on a single hole

Ever had a nightmare hole that really wrecks your card? It was my turn today where i was level par until the 12th hole, after I penned 14 onto my card I walked to the 13th tee bed with nothing but respect for the hole. I WILL BE BACK AND I WILL BEAT YOU running through my mind. Hope everybody had a better round than me.
 
I was playing with someone who shanked their driver into the hazard, played 3 out of the boggy ditch, duffed it a million times to the dogleg corner. finally reached the bunker, hand nemorous shots out of the sand and ended up with a 26. He was poor at golf in general though not just that hole.

Bit disappointing really as he walked off (it was only the 4th hole) and we didn't get a chance to take the piss out of him for crashing his car on the way to the course.
 
I think from memory 12 is the most I've chalked up on our 18th. OB, 3 off the tee into the rough right, hack forward, fat wood up the hill, iron into the pond, penalty drop, duff into the pond, penalty, on the green and 2 putts.
 
So far i think 11 is my worst. It was on the 1st a day after a lesson and with new irons in the bag which i had only hit a few times on the range beforehand.

If i can still say that for years to come then i will be a happy man :D
 
hit a few 11's and 12's when I top the ball and it goes 10yards, seen me doing it 3 in a row on one hole or taking 5 out a greenside bunker when i'm afraid to hit it hard. feel your pain. :(
 
Can't say I remember a real blow up in proper play... maybe an 8? that is excluding a blob of course where maybe my 3rd on a par 5 went whistling into the trees and could have resulted in a score too high to count.
 
Had a 14 never lost the ball got into some rough and just hacked it untill i got to the fairway. Had a 11 and 12 in the club chamionship on the same hole
 
Not a single hole but I played one of the courses at La Cala near Malaga and lost 13 balls in as many holes, nearly gave up golf that day.
 
Worst I`ve ever had was a 14 at a par 3 on my old course.
The hole was a short 160yd par 3 uphill to an elevated small two tier green with a group of pine trees situated about 10-15yds beyond the green. Was during a summer dry spell and fairways etc were very dry and hard.
1st shot was about 3 feet short of putting surface landing on bank at front of green. Rolled back down hill about 70yds. Took 2nd shot and was making sure not to be short, ball landed on upper tier of green bounced of into rough between rear of green and trees. Chipped back onto edge of green, ball rolled over top tier and picked up speed shot across lowwer tier and back down fairway about 90yds. Continued back and forth until 13th shot stopped near to pin, putted in for a 14. :mad: :mad:
 
8 on a 160 yd par 3.
tee shot right of the green (pin on back right elevated third of green) had to chip over a bush and bunker, not impossible but managed to thin it a little and left it under a tree with low branches, a couple of wristy naff shots later I managed to find the fringe eventually getting it close enough in 7 to tap it home.

Parred the same hole today on my way to a 70 :) hopefully won a few quid on my account.

Must have been during my first ever round when I shot 139 - that averages at 7.2 per hole so I must have hit a high one. Highest I remember was a couple of years ago in a medal. Par 5, OB all the way right, ditch and general clag left. 1st tee shot OB, 3rd shot hit an electicity cable so had to replay it. 2nd 3rd shot OB. 5th shot finds rough left, hack out for 6, 7th finds rough left again, hack out for 8, chip on for 9 and 3 putt for a 12!

Boy, that was a long day...

Worst I can remember was at a stupid wee par 3 at my old course. 102 yards with oob down right side. 3 shanked pitching wedges oob and played my 7th shot off the tee with a putter down the path.

Finished with an eleven. :o
 
Had a 16 once. Drive went 15 yards. left. Against a fence. No worries, a little back hander, from 8" deep rough, and 8 shots later, I got out. Could easily have been a 15, but missed the putt. Ain't that the way.

I think 9 is my worst (not sure if it was on a par 4 or 5) but i rememeber the putt was a tricky down hill slider and I took my time with it thinking if I miss this it will be double figures. Luckily I made it and have not been close since.
 
Never mind Jedsta20, after reading this thread I don't feel quite so bad admitting my 18 on our par 5 11th, although it was when I first started playing. Can't remember all the details except for losing 4 balls in the water!

Oh, and today I shot 45 on the front 9 :mad:and only losing 1 ball in the water. :eek:

Still enjoyed it, and at my level of play I just won't let it get to me :mad: and move on to the next hole.
I would like to add though, that these blow ups don't happen any where near as often as they used to :)
