I don't know if this has been mentioned already (been busy watching the Masters) but am I right in thinking that there are no Out of Bounds at Augusta?

Not to take anything away from Bubba, but had he hit his drive, and it was OOB would he have won the Masters? As it is it seems that he can hit the ball anywhere off line and still get it on the green. Although he has the skill to hit shots like he did on the 10 in the play off, is it all too easy without OOB to penalise wayward shots?

Finally, did anybody notice, there was something fundamently missing this year?

There were no colourful Azaleas, especially around Amen Corner, where it is so traditionally "Augusta".

Well I missed 'em anyway! :mmm:

I think they had a cold snap and all the buds fell off the flowers - shame..

You have to say that being that far off line on many courses would put you in trouble wouldn't it?
Rory's trip to the cabins should have been OB, many drives down the 10th were a long way off line and they don't really get punished. Bubba, Phil and a few others had similar shots.
Drive like that at a US Open and you'd miss the cut.

I think there are sections of OB at Augusta - they're just so far away from the playing arena that no-one ever goes there.....

Same with any course. Some holes you can get away with a shot which on others you wont. You can slice it 100 yards off our 1st and and be OK as there's 2 other fairways to the right. On the 5th and 13th, 20 yards off the fairway is OB.
