I've got a Powerkaddy Freeway leccy trolley with an 18 hole battery. Might be a silly question, but how many holes play can I reasonably expect to get from it on one charge?

I only got an 18 hole battery as I very rarely play 36 in one day - or at least not at the home club. Our course is quite short - a few paces over 6000yd. Do you reckon I could get 27 holes out of it? If I put it on charge for a couple hours between rounds, could I get more. Or will it just die on me at, say, 21-22 holes?

Anyone with experience/advice, I'd be glad to hear.

try it, no way of telling as although it may be capable new, batteries do deteriorate so it may not be in 100% condition. My 18 hole went from doing 18 comfortably to 17 to 16 in a few months.

I am not sure if they recommend partial charging, now and again may be ok but generally its recommended to fully charge after use.

Never ever part charge a battery. All that does is shorten the battery life. It is always good now and again to get your trolley in the back garden, put it on bricks and turn it on to run the battery totally dead, before re-charging. Regarding how long it lasts all depends on how you use it and the course you play on.

Not a direct comparison but I have an 18 hole Go Kart battery. I can easily get 36 out of it on my 6300 course which is relatively flat. I wouldn't do it regularly and I'd avoid taking it through thickish rough as it drains the battery having to cope with going through the heavy grass but otherwise shouldn't be a problem

Point taken about part charging. Might give it a go at 36 tomorrow. Given that our course is short with no distance between greens and tees, might get me far enough until I win the afternoon match. If i can do a 7&6 win, then i should be ok:whistle:

ScottJD's battery died at Woburn on the 2nd round, was about 8 or 9 holes left I think, it was hard work for him pushing even in free wheel, we gave him lots of sympathy of course as ours pootled along nicely :)

Mine will still do 27 after 3 years of use.

I think If I had to I could get 2 rounds out of it, but I'd have to freewheel a fair bit to try to save it as much as I could.
