North Mimms
Tour Winner
Ok... owing to a supreme bit of muppetry, I have managed to lose both my 9 iron and my PW, and it doesn't look like they are going to get handed in to the proshop.
So I have had a rummage in the garage (where old golf clubs go to die, or at least get covered in spider webs) and dug out the relevant clubs from my old starter set.
(I'm Presbyterian so am loath to rush out and spend money....)
They are quite a different shape from my current set - I think they are known as transition irons - and have quite a fat bottom to them rather than a thin blade.
So I plan to take the SW and 8 from both sets out on the range to get a feel for comparative distance as I know that I might not hit the "old" PW the same distance as the "lost" one.
Any other hints?
I may well end up buying replacements as close as possible to my current set, but not yet.
