Hi, just a quick one.

If the first tee is busy during a qualifying roll-up, can you jump on to another tee as long as you play the holes in order from there?

Not usually. Our club stipulates that all club matches must start from the 1st tee. At some opens however you can sometimes get a 2 tee start if there is a large field playing.

Only if sanctioned by the committee (or whoever sorts out that sort of thing at your club) .

Normally a stipulated round starts at the first unless approved otherwise.

Not unless 'The Committee' authorise it.

And simply 'jumping on' to an unoccupied tee is unlikely to be authorised.

See Definition of 'Stipulated Round' in The Rules.

As been stated - normally only if a two tee start or shotgun has been given

So it is usually specifically sanctioned for every event rather than being a 'local rule' or equivalent?

Your club might have a local rule but I would be very surprised if they allowed people to tee off any tee they wish

start any tee - wow! that would be a recipe for chaos. Maybe we could extend that concept (were it allowed) and play the holes in any order we choose - now that would be interesting :)
