So with this cleared up, if a player paced their line out and then putted with the ball running over area that they had paced, would this be deemed touching the line of the putt?

When I do it I stand to the side of what I think my line is on the putt IE on the low side of the putt.... and if it means I'll walk over someone else's line I'll usually only pace up to the point before I go near their line then guesstimate the rest
