Played the second round of our club matchplay last night.First hole 365yrds par four three wood centre of the fairway eight iron to the green Shanked the bugger into a hazzard never to be seen again all i could do was laugh my head off no point getting upset about it.

Anyway I conceded the hole but never felt bad about it and still in a good mood i was giving him two shots he's off 11.

Halfed the second in par's won the third SI 1 so felt good about that. I ended up being two up at the turn then went par.par, birdie, par, bogie, birdie to win four up.

Had a really good chat on the way round with my oppo who was very gracious in defeat.

Just felt good about it when it all could have gone terribly wrong at the first if i had got upset about the shank.

A perfect example why you should not let the bad shot bother you!

Well done on your win and goodluck in the next round... Club champion possibly?

Good example there, when I play the first I wait and see what happens, if Im away well and aproach well, Im happy, but if I duff it off the tee or with my second I just let it go and move on, even in stroke play. My first hole score is pretty much luck till I settle in, so Im never too fussed about it, after all there are 17 more to go and I would rather play duff shots early on rather than later. ;)
