Ive been away from the golfing scene now for quite a while and dont play anymore.

I do still like to watch the Masters though as its one of the greatest sporting events of the year.

Ive been seeing lots of adverts on Sky for the Masters.

As a non subscriber to Sky Sports im really hoping they have not got the TV rights now!!!

Is it still on the Beeb????

I thought there were certain sports events that Sky were not allowed to get Re

Masters
World Cup Football
Euro Footy champs
The Open
Wimbledon
ETC

Not happy about that!

Money talks unfortunately.

Luckily I'm a Sports subscriber...it is expensive if you just want it for once a year though. The sports channels are all I watch though (Mrs. watches the other guff)...especially so now I have free HD.

I could be wrong, but I don't think The Open is on the protected list, I think the R&A just like it to be on terrestial TV. The protected list is (I think)

•Olympic Games
•World Cup finals tournament
•European Football Championship finals
•FA Cup final
•Scottish FA Cup final (in Scotland)
•The Grand National
•The Derby
•Wimbledon tennis
•Rugby League Challenge Cup final
•Rugby World Cup final

I have sympathy with people who don't have Sky, but if the BBC didn't waste so much money they might be able to compete in the bids better

This is a really good point.

BBC do some things very well. Doctor Who, most nature-y stuff etc...But they have ALOT of rubbish which is just money wasted which could be better spent on getting some decent sports coverage for those with Freeview/Terrestrial TV.

Well at least I will be able to watch the end game I suppose!

Thanks for the response.
