Back to world number one as well. Not the greatest of snooker from both of them, but Selby was a deserved winner.

Is he a Chelsea fan???? ;)

As I mentioned earlier they're my 2 favourite players, so I couldn't lose. :)

Just not a fan of the way he has treated the sport that has helped earn him millions with a lack of respect in the past.

As a talent he is prob the best the ever has been

But winning Snooker!

Exactly, you can't play these big frame matches and hope to win it by just potting alone, not against a player who has a good safety game. I am maybe a bit of a purist and enjoy watching the ability and skill required to play some of those safety shots, I am not just there to watch the exciting stuff of long potting and big breaks.

ALL Very true ,

Mind you his after match interview last night was honest and humble , says he is in a good place right now , maybe he has turned a corner mentally , hopefuly so because he is undoubtedly one of the best ever ..

Yes that is very true - it was humble interview and possibly a different Ronnie

Only £100 that Liverpool would finish 2nd.

That's good then - not sure why you made that bet when you predicted it would be either City or Chelsea winning suggesting Liverpool would be In the top 2 but let's not digress Paddy

Mark Selby then ? Did his tactics work then

Im all honesty I dont really care. I am not interested in getting into one of your pathetic little tit for tat threads. so much so that I am going to add you to my block list.

Indeed. But it doesn't make for 'attractive' viewing - a bit like Squash. Watched a few games of 'Shell Out' - you pay what you leave - and my (part-time) boss playing for the equivalent of 3 weeks of my pay in my day job per frame (while I held the stakes) many many years ago, and the art of good safety was relatively interesting and important!

ive been watching a long time too and enjoy tactical battles as much as anyone, I just dont enjoy the type of snooker that selby plays. I had a feeling he would win though. O'Sullvan hadnt realy been tested much at all this year, except a little by Joe Perry.

Tactical snooker battles are just as important as those frames where players clear the table and you need both facets to be a world class player. A bit like a batsman at cricket having to dig deep and defend when a bowler is on top and wait to take his opportunities to score rather than looking to hit every ball for runs
