Just noticed there are only 3 major winners in the Top 10, and only 5 in the Top 20 (i think)

Is this coincidental with Mr woods disappearing off the scne, thereby allowing many more journeymen-type players to have a good week ?

thoughts ?

All I know is the next guy to dominate golf (although he won't do it anywhere to the like of Tiger) was 2nd yesterday.

Once he polishes his game up ever so slightly he will reign supreme.

You do wonder how many current players who have won one Major will go on to win more. Kaymer, if he gets his game back, and Mclroy are firm bets, maybe an eachway on Gmac but I wouldn't put money on any others repeating the feat.
I don't think anyone will dominate the way Tiger did, there's too many good players out there.
And Rory's good - but he ain't that good.

I think you can add a certain young Italian to the list that may come to the fore. 2 European Tour wins already and he's only just old enough to drink.:)

I agree that there is too much competition to dominate the way Tiger did but I also think that the competition is good for the game, especially if a fierce rivalry comes about. I for one got bored with the same person winning all the time albeit with the most sublime golf ever seen. Variety is after all the spice of life and you can have too much of a good thing. Better stop this now I'm beginning to sound like a footballer :o

Since 09, the only player I see repeating a Major win is Rory. I personally don't think he will win that many TBH. He has been put on Tiger's pedestal, and has so far disappointed. Second or top tens are not good enough for a guy of his talents.

ps: Sky has commented on Tiger hitting a unofficial course record during a practice round at the Fry Open. Hopefully a good sign.
