lump on my eye

got a lump on the bottom eye lid/bottom of eye. Its slightly red quite sore and occasionally itchy. I get bad hay fever as well but never had a sympton like this before...

any suggestions for it? mrs seems to think it might be something call a sty?

probably will be a sty, soak a towel in warm water and cover your eye for 5 min. if not gone within a week go to doctors.

Sounds like a stye, which is a bacterial infection in an eyelash follicle. The infection isn't contagious, but caused by normal skin bacteria getting into an abnormal site, possibly because of eye rubbing etc (but not directly due to your hay fever). Applying wet heat to it should draw it out into a small pustule which will then burst and clear up - not as dramatic as it sounds. Unlikely to nee doc visit, but do go if it doesn't clear quickly.

Make a cup of tea and once the teabag has cooled a bit put it on your eye for a while. Should help it.

so glad I'd already swallowed the coffee before I read that......... leads to similar symptoms though if that sketch in the film knocked Up was anyways near factually correct..... Caution - bad language in the clip
