Luke Donald RBZ->R1

That contradicts what was said earlier in the thread.

I thinks this goes along with what i said at the start of the post and i was told this by a guy at tha Scottish Open last year who worked for a well known management company.

I also found Mike H interesting in the fact that Luke couldn't even remember the correct model of irons he'd used for 4 years;)

also interesting he has a slightly closed face on the R1- I still cant see how the dial on the bottom actually changes the face but I'll have a bash setting it up like Lukes and see what it's like (minus the Accra shaft though)

It changes it's natural position on the floor, I tried messing about with it on my R11s. Just let it sit naturally on the ground without actually gripping it, then change it to max close and max open and you will see the natural position of the head change. But if you are gripping ready to hit before putting it on the floor then obviously you are going to gripping it square all the time irrespective of the bottom plate..

yes I get that bit, but as the 'dial' doesn't touch the ground like a pivotal point, especially sitting on grass,I just cant see how it opens or closes the face?:confused:

is it dynamically it does it? ie during the swing as opposed to looking at a Ping Rapture V2 or TM superfast burner sitting on the ground will obviously look closed to target.

I'll have a play around tonight and see how it looks on the carpet

Or not might be a better option if it is working ok. I had a play around with my R11s a couple of months after buying it. Problem was I did not write down the original settings I had it on, so I had to buy another bucket of range balls to figure it out again....:mmm:

As you can guess, I have just left it set as it is now for the last 12 months, if you do start messing around with it write down your current settings, do not cock it up like I did.......:thup:
