playing the 15th at kingbarns yesterday ( sorry for the name dropping ) par 3 all carry over the sea/ rocks wind left to right and about 8 people watching me, so no pressure then, thought i hit a half decent shot until the wind caught it and started to send it out to sea, made my quick exit from the tee turned round to see my ball ricochet of a rock go about 50 feet in the air and drop nicely onto the green :D cue about 10 mins of everyone pissing themselves, golfing gods were def looking down on me, walked of the green with a par, easy game :D

Great shot...I think...

While playing with my family (all non golfers ages about 16 at the little 9 hole par 3 course at centre parks sherwood forest I hit a hooked iron that cannoned off a fence onto the green. My dad then proceeded to do the same off a tree and found the fairway!

This was long before I every tried to play golf properly though.

Nice one. But the gods will get their own back!!
did it on the 18th aswell, theres a burn that runs below the green i hit it short, one bounce in the the burn and it bounced back up the fairway, think it was one of those days, they must have felt sorry for me after i hit the hotel on the old course the day before, to the person on the balcony i nearly killed SORRY !!!!!

My luckiest hole, local municipal, short par three 135yds, but high shot over trees in front or green required.
Topped ball from tee, 50yds lob wedge required to get over trees. Thinned it again along ground, through the green, up bank at back of green, rolled back onto green and in hole for a Two.

Unluckiest hole: Match play with son in law, Les Ormes Jersey. Again par three. My left handed son in law shanked tee shot towards car park and maybe AOB. We heard a clatter, but he hoped it may have hit fence and bounced back in play, so he played provisional, as I also hit a poor shot.

As we walked towards fence. A chef appeared with the ball in his hand saying the ball had shot through his open kitchen widow and missed one of his juniors by inches. He then threw the ball back on to the middle of the fairway. I’ll play it as it lies, grinned my son in law. Up and down for a par to win hole

So yes; the golfing gods will restore the balance

Nice work.

I once scabbed/thinned a 7 iron on an uphill 160 yard hole at my place. Must have landed some 80 yards short of the green from all of 6 foot, and then proceeded to run up the rest of the hill and on to the two-tiered green, and out of sight.

I got to the green and couldn't see it, so assumed it had rolled all the way off the back. My doubles partner was wandering over to get the pin for the others, and then started cracking up... it'd had rolled all the way into the hole, for my first (and only) hole-in-one!

Luckiest shot I can remember hitting was a little flop over a bunker. Skulled it straight into the face and it flew about 20ft in the air and came down 3" from the hole

Many years ago I played Chart Hills in Kent. I was in a greenside bunker (there's quite a few on that course) and I came out of the bunker a bit too well. The ball was heading over the green and far away when it hit a pine cone that was hanging from a branch which was over hanging the green!!

The ball dropped down to 1" from the hole.... :D

Perhaps the best 'up and down' I've ever made. :)

My luckiest shot was on a par 3 course (not sure if this counts). Horrible little 60 yard hole, I thinned it and it looked like it was going miles over the back, it hit the flag that was blowing in the wind and dropped an inch from the hole. Tapped in for Birdie :)
