Anybody have any real life experiences? Whether it be own, work on etc?
I've found most of the typical issues online so far an on Facebook groups but unfortunately this just gives the negative aspect of owning one not the good experiences. Alternatively the perspective of an enthusiast who is blinded by his love for Land Rovers no matter their woes and will always tell you to get one.
I'm open to alternatives also but the Discovery seems to tick all the boxes.
- Looks Nice
- 5 Seats and loads of space
- 7 seats and some space with over configurations to get a bit more space.
- 4x4
- Plenty of comfort and bells and whistles.
- Good for towing
Anybody opted for something else instead of the discovery?
Heard nightmares about the crank etc. but I think most cars have their major issues that could be quite costly if you were unlucky enough.
I have a Defender for off road stuff so that doesn't change, the partner has a good daily for long commutes with decent MPG.
It also allows me and golf buddies to go away in just this on weekends away, same with scratch team and ferrying around the junior team occasional when necessary.
Can't seem to find anything else currently that is ticking all the boxes.
I do a bit of towing now and again, have a TD5 which is great on the B roads but anything including a decent jaunt on the motorway i'd be able to use the discovery instead.
Budget is up to 20k.
