Evening all,
Which one am i? :D

I play off of 20 and decided to do some homework as to what handicap category i fall into.
As most clubs are geared towards certain handicaps i wasnt sure whether i fell into S.Game Improvement
Game Improvement
Players
Better players
or generally just Low,Mid or High Handicap.

Any information i come across seems to tell me that
1.Low = 10 and under
2.Mid = 11-20
3.High is 21 up.
I always thought i was a high handicapper is the above accurate or am i right?

Sorry kid, you're a high handicapper off 20 imo. I'd call you a mid handicapper once you get to about 16, low from 8 down.

Easy; if you're off 20 like me, then you're a low upper-medium category player.

I think the goalposts have moved and the quality of the top amateurs is crazy these days.

Low = 3 and below
Low Mid = 4 - 9
Mid = 10 - 15
High = 15+

Since the average club handicap is 16 (apparently), it is harsh to put 16 as a high handicap. It surely has to be mid, as that is average?

Yeah, maybe a bit harsh:-

Low = 3 and below
Low Mid = 4 - 9
Mid = 10 - 15.9
Average = 16
High = 16.1+

:D ;)

My view would be that if you get 2 shots on any hole then your a high handicapper so would see 18 as when a player changes to a mid handicapper from high.
As to where the difference between where mid and low sits i'd say once you get to 8 your a low handicapper as you get shots on less than half the holes on the course.

As an aside, no male golfer who has the ability to breath and to put one foot in front of the other should receive a shot on a par 3.

BTW the par3 9th at our place is SI 4, so I get a shot there :o :o :D
