Weather is fantastic down here this morning. Clear blue skies and not a hint of breeze.
Have a game at Camberley Heath Golf Club, teeing off just after mid-day.

Haven't played there for some years, really looking forward to a return. It's a lovely heath and heather course, with plenty of tree lined fairways and gorse. Typical Surrey. Has some terrific holes, with the par 5 3rd my personal favourite. You could pick that hole up and place it on any course in the world and it wouldn't be shamed.
Really, really looking forward to it, might just take the camera!
Just hope the i15 behaves itself

;)

No chipping in for birdie on the last please!!
If the pin is where it was yesterday, it may be the only way to get close to it :)

I'll definitely be having a go then
;)
Just make sure you do not go long with the second shot then, 'cos if you miss the hole on the way back, you may just end up in the front bunkers or worse, back down on the fairway :)

Nice course. Played there a few times.

Hope you enjoy the day.

Sorry I couldn't make it today, the law prevents me leaving my 5 yr old daughter at home alone :p

Smiffy you've been driving quite well lately so I reckon you're going to have an off day today and find yourself in loads of poop! I've pencilled you in for 27pts :D

Smiffy,

You're probably trying to concote an excuse for your 27 points about now but hope you had a good day out. It's a great track. How much are you paying to play it and how come you are playing it at all?

It's not an easy opener although 4 & 6 are good birdie chances as is the 9th if you can get a good drive away. I like the par 3 11th and the 16th is my favourite hole. The last I always find a fiddly little hole and never play it well.

Looks like the weather has been alright for you. Look forward to hearing how you got on

Many thanks for the game today guys, shame I played so badly and allowed you to take nearly all the money. The good company made up for it though.

Thanks Anthony, Rob and khalid - great day, good company and mixed golf at a lovely course - my pck of the holes would be 1, 3, 7, 8, 9, 10 (a very trong stretch), 13, 17 and 18 - a great finishing hole that I am sure has seen some drama over the years! We got away with the weather and I only lost 2 balls - it is going in the right direction and an improvement on the 19 at Cooden, which was an all-time low!!

Playing in an invitation at Caversham Heath next Sunday and feel more confident than I have for the past month, which has been a golfing low point.

Still waiting to see the infamous white chinos Rob!!

Yes a superb day and a lovely course in terrific condition. My driving wasn't brilliant today, but I still managed to put a score together. Had 19 points on the way out to win the front 9 by one point off Paul, but lost my way a little on the back 9 where a couple of blobs reared their ugly heads.
Had 12 points in (the back 9 is definitely harder!) to finish on 31, Paul playing much better on the back to score 15 points and a 33 point total to nick the money for the back 9 and the match.
Shot of the day for me was on the 495yd par 4 5th (SI1). Yep, a 495 yard par 4. I didn't think they made them that long! Hit an "ok" drive down the right hand side, didn't really collar it as well as I could have done and had left myself about 235 yards from the green. Ball was sitting in some semi-rough, nice lie, but a bunker in front of the green that I had to slide the ball around. I told Paul I was going to hit a nice fade with my 5 wood down the left hand side and bring it back in and the minute I hit it I knew it was going exactly where I wanted it to go. One of the best shots I've hit in ages and despite putting my first putt about 5 feet past, I managed to can the return for a well earned 4.
Big thanks go to Anthony for his invite, Khalid says thanks too, he thoroughly enjoyed himself despite not playing his best golf. Great company, and congratulations on your two birdies Anthony... that tee shot you hit at the long par 3 will stay in my memory for a long, long time.
A great day.
Thanks again.

Sounds like a great day out. Are the greens still quick?

Well they hadn't moved all night
:D :D :D :D

Good pace Martin. Quite nippy. Not the fastest I've ever played on, but plenty quick enough.
Fairways were well fluffy, tees were in very good condition. All in all a superb course.
Tough par 3's...

Good shooting mate, you've been hitting some nice shots lately (in amongst the crap). Not much of the season left but I reckon next year will be your best certainly for the past 2/3 years. Remember to get out and play your own track to keep your h/cap official - can't wait to hear your report on that place :)

No "flukey" chip ins either. All proper golf, green in regulation stuff, that sort of thing.
;)

After all the sh**e I played yesterday, I found my game again today (except for my tee shot on the 6th). I was fortunate enough to play the Old course at Sunningdale and managed to go round in 79 :)
Highlight of the day was the 18th, my playing partner pulled his drive onto the 1st fairway and had 232yds to the pit. His 3 wood lipped out and ended up 8 inches from the hole. I had approx 150 yds to the pin, hit 8 iron to about 2 ft. The greenkeepers that were working on one of the bunkers were impressed :)
