Losing weight/fitness thread

Never had an issue before, but my right groin has been painful recently and now the hamstring, the consensus online is to keep on going, just at a slower pace, might get a set of compression shorts and see if they help.
A thigh compression sleeve was helpful for me. I’d try them over compression shorts as should deliver more support.

Alternating shoes you run in also helps, if you have the luxury and they are different design(rocker/stack height etc).

I've got 4 of the same type of running shoes, I rotate through these so the wear is similar.
A tip a friend gave me always buy one pair from a shop, then by others same type online for cheaper.

Then At Xmas treated myself to a pair of nylon plated shoes for races (London)

Ordered a compression sleeve and I alternate between 3 pairs of asics, all the same make, Gel Kayano 32.
Looks like a well-cushioned shoe with one of the highest stacks but relatively low energy return and no rocker (according to the breakdown here: https://runrepeat.com/asics-gel-kayano-32).

I would definitely suggest popping into a good shop to try sth with a plated design, doesn’t have to be carbon. FWIW, on tired legs I would rather pick my plated shoe over the softy one even on an easy run - they just make it more bearable - lighter in weight/better energy return/whatever sth but it seems to work. 🙃

It certainly worth rotating different designs to get legs adapting differently not just same model (to spread wear and tear). Jacob mentions it in his video on rotation:

Obviously, it’s easier for him to do so😂

They are not just for races (see my post above). 🙃

What did you get? Mine are Brooks Hyperion Max 3.
They where sold to me as long run and race shoes. A very good runner as a friend says he races in them.

Saucony Endorphin Speed 4, last years model with a narrow toe box. Which they've fixed in this years model. But half price as last years model

Wife was back late with the lad from his swim club training, then had a teams meeting with her netball club, so ended up with a McDonald’s for dinner (wrap and surf and turf burger, nothing else)

Well within the days calories, so all fine. Was a nice treat after a day of eating well 😅
