Machrihanish Dunes is over 7000 from the black tees and quite a bit of a slog between greens and tees. County strokeplay championship was held there last weekend (36 holes in one day ) and I'm told that each 18 took over five hours.

My one foray over 7,000yds I was +3 gross when I won the match on the 15th.

No huge forced carries though, and not as long as most others mentioned.

Shade over 7200 yards.

I forgot that. I knew there were several 400+ par fours that I refused to take on but it didn't seem that long and never really a slog. Must have been the quality of the golf and the company

Demoralising when you have a par 4 you cant reach in 2 and you dont have a shot.

Lovely course though.

can quite believe that, it was a real slog last time in played it and that was off the whites i think.. Im not a fan of buggies but if i went back would def use one at Mach dunes.
