Well I for one fully intend to support the London olympics. I would love to see all the new shiny facilities that are there to be enjoyed by the inhabitants of the capitol after the games have gone, it will give me a warm glow inside to know that my taxes have helped in some small way to better the lives of Londonners everywhere whilst Leeds city council have announced they are to close 5 sport centers because they cannot afford to keep them open. Sarcastic, what me? never.

I will not be supporting the london olympics in any way, they have already taken so much money away from good causes via lottery funding that i have lost the very little interest that i had.

As a footnote, only 70p from each lottery scratch card in support of the olympics sold went toward the actual event, the remaining 30p went straight to ioc fatcats.

I'm sure it will have as much impact on those outside the southeast and the millenium bug and the lasting legacy of the millenium dome. Sport for all...not.

Do we know how much money needs to be made? or is it a case of no matter what the cost, it'll never be covered without global TV rights?

I'd like to go, not sure I'd spend even £50 for a ticket though (opening and closing excluded).
