Just sat down to watch this game. 1 minutes silence impeccably observed by all at Anfield to remember Gary Speed. Very touching.

Who do you fancy to win this one, or has it got draw written all over it?

I reckon 1-1 and that Ballotelli Muppet will get sent off.

How stupid is that pillock? Absolute spoilt brat. Apparently started smashing the changing room door up after the game just as 2 of the Liverpool players were being interviewed.

He is what corporal punishment was made for. Deserves a good flogging. How about half time interval, would be a great time!;)

Joe Hart was outstanding, really thought we had snatched it at the end when Andy C got that header !

Oh well, we seem to be able to handle the big games, and then screw up the little clubs ... onto Tuesday now.

Enjoyed watching it. Not sure what City can do with Balottelli. Mancini took a huge gamble on him with his history of problems on and off the field so I don't think he'll want him to go. 9 goals in his last 10 games looked like he had got his head together on the pitch at least although I hear he is still a strange creature away from football. After today though how much can Mancini continue to support him and will he become too much of a liability if they are still in the race come Easter. Surely teams will target him everytime he plays now and he'll no doubt react

Lol. Must admit only watched the second half thought you's were gonna sneak it...well hoped you were.
What you think of Carroll since he arrived? I reckon it was a Mike Ashley master stroke getting shot of him.

very, very disappointed, thought he was a hard case (on the field). Hasn't showed much at all, but still willing to give him some more time, but doesn't look a 15 never mind 35 mill striker.

55 million on Carroll and Henderson looks a complete and utter joke in my opinion....especially when compared to Suarez who has been a revelation and will surely have the big boys from Spain keeping an eye on him..

But I was also been hugely critical of Lucas a couple of seasons ago and everytime I've seen them this year he has been one of there best players.

Time will tell....

Lucas has been great for over 18 months. Some still wont give him credence, but most improved player Ive ever seen. I wouldn't sell him for 15 million now. Money looks like wasted on Henderson and Caroll so far, but to be fair to Henderson, has been playing on the right, and he is no winger. Would nt mind seeing him in the middle and then judge, think Kenny thinks Ive payed 20 mill so Ive got to play him.

Were still going in the right direction though.

Masterstroke selling Torres for £50 million, and then blow it all on Carroll and Henderson. Makes our old boy Shane Long look a snip at £6 million.

Well he can’t show much sat on the bench, where he seems to spend most of his time.

Don’t be too hasty writing Carol off, he came to the club unfit. All indications are his fitness is improving. Mark my words, he will be showing his worth before long.

All those who dismiss him now, will be suffering from acute amnesia by the end of the season.
The new signing I have most doubts about is Henderson, but I would love to eat my words, in the way most of us have had to do about Lucas

I would have thought he was on the bench, because he is not currently good enough to play. £35 million for a bench warmer seems a bit excessive.:smirk: Liverpool paid well over his value at the time of the transfer, especially if he was not fit at that time. Panic buy to spend Torres money before the transfer deadline passed in my opinion. Newcastle don't appear to have suffered from selling him.;)

I hope you are right, as I said willing to give him some more time.

I just think our play is more fluid when we use a front 4 of any from suarez, kuyt, bellamy, rodriguez, downing. When Caroll plays we are more static and knock it longer. I always say though, that if you not playing well, make up for it in work rate, which Carroll is not doing either, although against West Brom and Swnasea he put more of a shift in.

What alot of people are forgetting tho is the Torres deal was done so late it left Dalglish short of strikers & any player he went for just after banking £50 mill was going to have the price upped greatly, i think henderson will be good but as Liverbirdie said he is been played out of position , & as much as it pains me to say it (il always answer honestly on football) yes they are going in the right direction , & they should have beaten city ..
Gona be interesting what happens in the Suarez charge thingy tho , surely the FA have some evidence if they charged him , theyd hardly pubicly charge him if there is no evidence ..

Lets look at Andy Carroll before I comment on what has been said about Henderson. I think that £35M was a lot of money to pay for him, made even worse the fact that he was injured. When he has played I have not seen anything from him that warrants the price tag. Does anyone remember the free header he had on the edge of the 6 yard box against Norwich that he missed the target with? I am a Liverpool fan and want to see him show what he has to offer and he is still only 22 so does have some time on his side.

Now Henderson... 21 years old and English that straight away means it is gonna cost you. Kenny knows that in the next couple of years he will need a Gerrard replacement and is thinking Henderson can be it. He has shown some good skills at times and a willing to work in a Gerrard like way. He had a good season at Sunderland and if he had another like it and showed some improvement then his price tag would be through the roof at the end of this season. Think about Gerrard at 20 then think about Gerrard at 22. You would have said £20M was a lot for him at 20 but at 22 you would happily pay £35M-£40M because of how good he got in those 2 years. So did Kenny want to wait and risk Henderson going through the roof and out of his price range at the end of this season when the likes of Man City would pay whatever Sunderland told them to. He has been bought as a future investment like Kenny has already stated.
